HB 301 Fee

Effective January1,2024, per House Bill 301 the following registration fee increase will occur:

• $7.00for all motor vehicles
• $5.00 for all six-month registrations (all motorcycles and vehicles registered at 12,000 lbs. or less).
• $14.00 for alternative fuel vehicles for a full year and $5.00 for a six-month registration.

Please reference the fee charts for questions, as they will reflect the changes.

Trailer Registration Changes

Effective January 1, 2024, the following trailer types will not be required to be registered:

• Single axel trailers
• Trailers under 750 lbs.

The following trailer types, regardless of axel count, still require registration:

• a commercial trailer
• a trailer designed, used, and maintained for hire
• a travel trailer, 750lbs. and over
• a camping trailer, 750 lbs. and over
• a fifth wheel trailer, 750 lbs. and over

Duplicate Title Holds

This is a reminder that all duplicate title applications have a 72 hour hold before issuance. Please inform your customers of the hold so they are not expecting their title too soon. This hold is placed as a security precaution in order to provide enhanced consumer protection.
